Courtney and friends go to Midwich, California to meet Courtney's cousin, Sara Reeves. What nobody has known is that for five years, the town has grown into a city... with people who are not who they remember themselves as. Later on, separated from her friends, Courtney reunites with Sarah and both are on the run as they attempt to discover their friends as well as their true identities while on the run from the police and a mysterious group known only as the "Strangers".
